Protest Art
George (May 2021)
I made this collage of George Floyd out of newspaper scraps on Sunday May 31, 2020 (six days after he was killed) because I wanted to contribute to the cause in a creative way. I was inspired by the amount of people who showed up (and are still showing up) to fight for what is right. My mom was forced to board up her shop, +COOP, so instead of having plain plywood, we decided to decorate it with my posters. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this poster are donated to the Lyric McHenry Community Arts Fellowship, which supports 3-4 Stanford University students each year to complete a summer internship with an arts organization that furthers racial and/or social justice.
